Episode 4 - Materia Mensa | Soil to soul | AYA ESTATE HARSOVO - Coming September 12th

Soil to Soul is the fourth episode in the Materia Mensa series and, at the same time, a project built around five wines from AYA Estate.

Materia Mensa is a series of short video essays exploring the connection between ceramics, food, taste, and the creative process. Its early episodes follow the dialogue between a master ceramicist and a chef as they create a vessel for a specific dish.
In Soil to Soul, this conversation expands. At its center now are terroir, wine, clay, the senses, and the way we serve and experience wine.

The project begins with a fundamental question: when does taste actually begin?

Not only once the wine reaches the palate. Even before the first sip, we've already gathered information through color, shape, material, touch, temperature, and the context in which the drink is presented to us. All of this builds an anticipation of what we're about to taste.

For millennia, wine has been part of a ritual in which meaning lies not only in the drink itself, but in the objects through which it is served. Soil to Soul looks at the vessel as an active part of that ritual.
